{"id":15746,"date":"2021-10-12T09:49:57","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T13:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/danish-original-elvira-set-viaplay\/"},"modified":"2021-10-12T12:27:13","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T16:27:13","slug":"danish-original-elvira-set-for-viaplay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/danish-original-elvira-set-for-viaplay\/","title":{"rendered":"Danish Original Elvira Set for Viaplay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has unveiled <em>Elvira<\/em> as the latest Danish original drama headed for Viaplay.<\/p>\n<p>Adapted from a series of novels by Anne-Sophie Lunding-S\u00f8rensen, <em>Elvira<\/em> stars Sara Klein as the titular 35-year-old, whose day job consists of answering the phone in a brothel owned by her childhood friend\u2014and policeman\u2014K\u00f8ster. When a prostitute goes missing, Elvira is driven to investigate. The series will premiere exclusively on Viaplay in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Klein in the cast are Peter Plauborg (<em>Cry Wolf<\/em>), Anton Hjejle, Bodil J\u00f8rgensen (<em>The Kingdom Exodus<\/em>) and Marijana Jankovic (<em>Maja<\/em>). The eight-episode series is written by L\u00e6rke Sanderhoff (<em>The Sunfish<\/em>) and Heidi Maria Faisst (<em>The Legacy<\/em>). The executive producer is Meta Louise Foldager S\u00f8rensen for SAM Productions, alongside producers Sara Namer and Johannes Rothaus N\u00f8rregaard. Filming has recently started in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>Filippa Wallestam, NENT Group\u2019s chief content officer, said: \u201cThis multi-layered drama plays out in an unusual setting but says something universal\u2014either we watch life go past us or we jump right into it. Viewers of our latest Danish original can look forward to a unique blend of seriousness, humor and action. Elvira is a fascinating character with a heart that\u2019s 100 percent in the right place, and it feels great to share her story with audiences around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Klein added: \u201cIt\u2019s so mega-cool and exciting to start filming. I love every minute of playing Elvira. She\u2019s a completely regular, unusual person just like you and me, with flaws and shortcomings, but also with a huge heart and more power than she knows. She really deserves to be the heroine of her own series!
