{"id":15472,"date":"2021-08-27T09:18:58","date_gmt":"2021-08-27T13:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/hbo-asia-catchplay-partner-taiwanese-original\/"},"modified":"2021-08-27T10:44:24","modified_gmt":"2021-08-27T14:44:24","slug":"hbo-asia-catchplay-partner-on-taiwanese-original","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/hbo-asia-catchplay-partner-on-taiwanese-original\/","title":{"rendered":"HBO Asia, Catchplay Partner on Taiwanese Original"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WarnerMedia and Catchplay are partnering on a new Taiwanese anthology series, <em>Twisted Strings<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-part series, executive produced by filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien, will arrive on HBO GO and HBO across Asia, and on the Catchplay+ streaming service in Taiwan and Indonesia, in early 2022.<\/p>\n<p><em>Twisted Strings<\/em> is produced by Screenworks Asia, Catchplay\u2019s new production arm, in partnership with Taiwan\u2019s Bossdom and Singapore\u2019s Mediacorp, which will roll the show out on its digital platform meWATCH. It is written and directed by Huang Xi and stars Lee Kang-sheng in the lead.<\/p>\n<p>Magdalene Ew, WarnerMedia\u2019s head of content, entertainment, for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, noted, \u201cWith ten originals from Taiwan under our belt already, <em>Twisted Strings<\/em> will be our first anthology series and boasts a standout assembly of talent. Following the success and popularity of our other originals, including <em>The World Between Us<\/em> and <em>Trinity of Shadows<\/em>, it\u2019s great to once again work with Catchplay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daphne Yang, CEO of the Catchplay Group, added: \u201cWe are thrilled to be announcing our third Catchplay original series this year. Following the success of <em>Trinity of Shadows<\/em> and <em>The Making of An Ordinary Woman 2<\/em>, we are honored to be exploring this new genre with a dream crew led by director Hou Hsiao-hsien and through international production and distribution partnerships with WarnerMedia, Mediacorp and Bossdom.
