The brand-new films will once again be written and directed by new talent in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mincemeat<\/em> is a comedy-drama about a young woman named Jane, who is trying to cope with her controlling and overbearing mother, who struggles with hoarding. It is written by Samantha O\u2019Rourke and directed by Nadira Amrani.<\/p>\n<p><em>Superdad<\/em> tells the story of a road trip between a father and son, Keon and Wesley. However, Keon is supposed to be in a psychiatric hospital while Wesley is supposed to be in school. It is written by Daniel Rusteau and directed by Theo Krekis.<\/p>\n<p>In the horror genre, <em>Cradled<\/em> is about a young mother experiencing a breakdown, written by Nessah Muthy and directed by Chloe Wicks.<\/p>\n<p>The cast across the anthology includes Aimee Lou Wood (<em>Sex Education<\/em>), Juliet Aubrey (<em>Snatch<\/em>, <em>The Infiltrator<\/em>, <em>The White Queen<\/em>), Martin McCann (<em>Calibre<\/em>, <em>The Survivalist<\/em>, <em>The Fall<\/em>), Ellora Torchia (<em>In the Earth<\/em>, <em>The Split<\/em>, <em>Midsommar<\/em>), Rosie Cavaliero (<em>Alan Partridge<\/em>, <em>Gentleman Jack<\/em>, <em>Jane Eyre<\/em>), Damien Molony (<em>Brassic<\/em>, <em>Being Human<\/em>, <em>Crashing<\/em>), Lorraine Burroughs (<em>Strike Back<\/em>, <em>Top Boy<\/em>, <em>Hard Sun<\/em>), Nikhil Parmer (<em>Trollied<\/em>, <em>Brassic<\/em>) and newcomer Joseph Obasohan.<\/p>\n<p><em>On the Edge<\/em> was made with the support of Creative Wales and Directors UK. It is developed through the 4Stories initiative, the channel\u2019s commitment to inclusion and finding brand-new diverse talent and is currently in post-production in Cardiff.<\/p>\n<p>Caroline Hollick, Channel 4\u2019s head of drama, said: \u201c<em>On the Edge<\/em> is a vital, highly successful pipeline for voices from a wide range of backgrounds directly into the high-end drama industry, which demonstrates our avowed commitment to new talent both on- and off-screen. These three distinctive, moving, ambitious stories will provide viewers with a fresh, thrilling and heartfelt perspective on the effects of mental health within modern British families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Phil Trethowan, executive producer for BlackLight Television, said: \u201cThere are so many exciting new writers and directors in the U.K., and it is absolutely vital that we give them access to our industry, especially those with the least opportunity.
