{"id":15121,"date":"2021-06-18T09:21:04","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T13:21:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/sam-worthington-stan-thriller-transfusion\/"},"modified":"2021-06-18T11:02:17","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T15:02:17","slug":"sam-worthington-in-stan-thriller-transfusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/sam-worthington-in-stan-thriller-transfusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Sam Worthington in Stan Thriller Transfusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Australian streaming platform Stan has lined up <em>Transfusion<\/em>, a thriller starring Sam Worthington (<em>Avatar<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Worthington stars as Ryan Logan, a former Special Forces operative who is battling to cope with life after the loss of his wife and is thrust into the criminal underworld to keep his only son from being taken from him. <em>Transfusion<\/em> co-stars Phoebe Tonkin (Stan\u2019s <em>Bloom<\/em>) and Matt Nable (<em>The Dry<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Filming on the movie started in Sydney earlier this week and will premiere on Stan in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Nable, director, writer and co-star, said:\u00a0\u201cThe opportunity to write, direct and co-star alongside talent such as Sam and Phoebe is phenomenal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cailah Scobie, chief content officer at Stan, said:\u00a0\u201cThe Stan original film <em>Transfusion<\/em> is set to be a powerful and thought-provoking Australian thriller. We\u2019re delighted to welcome Matt Nable as actor, writer and director, along with the star-studded cast of Sam Worthington and Phoebe Tonkin.
