The series will become available to subscribers in the latter half of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The six-episode series stars Dougray Scott (<em>Mission: Impossible 2, Batwoman<\/em>, <em>The Woman in White<\/em>) as Detective Inspector Ray Lennox, who is investigating the disappearance of a schoolgirl while battling his own personal demons. It is directed by James Strong (<em>Liar<\/em>, <em>Broadchurch<\/em>, <em>Vigil<\/em>) and David Blair (<em>Isolation Stories<\/em>, <em>The Barking Murders<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Crime is being produced by David Blair for Buccaneer Media and Off Grid Film and TV. Welsh is adapting his novel for the screen alongside long-standing screenwriting partner Dean Cavanagh (<em>Creation Stories<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Dougray Scott commented: \u201cIrvine Welsh is one of Scotland\u2019s greatest-ever writers and I am proud and excited to be working on his first adaptation for television. It\u2019s an honor to be working with such a talented cast and creative team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Director James Strong added: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be starting production on this dramatic execution of Irvine\u2019s brilliant novel. With a great cast in place, we\u2019re working together to create a classy work of pathos and genuine emotional quality which is grounded in gritty realism.
