The Finnish version is produced by Helsinki-filmi and directed by Jyri K\u00e4h\u00f6nen (<em>Sorjonen<\/em>, <em>Trackers<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The original BBC series was created by Joe Ahearne and Nicole Cauverien and produced by Left Bank Pictures. Vicky McClure starred.<\/p>\n<p>Ani Korpela, head of content business at Elisa Viihde, said: \u201cThe Covid-19 pandemic grew the demand for quality series, and we were looking for new ways to produce them. As a localized, Finnish adaptation of BBC&#8217;s original drama, <em>The Replacement<\/em> is a good example of experimenting a new way of production by a miniseries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>K\u00e4h\u00f6nen said: \u201cAs a child, I wanted to become an architect, so the idea of making a thriller in the world of architecture was fascinating. When the story is combined with strong, versatile female characters, the result is a unique and relatable story of tension.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Producer Mia Yl\u00f6nen from Helsinki Filmi said: \u201c<em>The Replacement<\/em> elegantly enters the inner layers of the human psyche like Hitchcock\u2019s movies and undermines the setting of family life.
