Embarking on her last year of school and preparing for the real world, she navigates falling in love with her dream woman and planning to fly the nest as she continues to try to hide her violent home life.<\/p>\n<p><em>In My Skin<\/em> will be directed by Molly Manners (<em>Urban Myths: Andy &amp; The Donald<\/em>) and executive produced by Nerys Evans (<em>Intelligence<\/em>, <em>French<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Saunders, Miranda<\/em>). Distributed by BBC Studios, the series premiered in the U.S. on Hulu.<\/p>\n<p>Shane Allen, controller of BBC Comedy commissioning, said: \u201c<em>In My Skin<\/em> is written and executed with its heart on its sleeve and brings compassion and humor to a world laced with vulnerability. The show portrays a contemporary Welsh spirit which connects with audiences all over the U.K. as its authenticity punches through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kayleigh Llewellyn, writer and executive producer, said: \u201cI cannot wait to finish telling Bethan\u2019s story, or \u2018the tricky second album&#8217; as I like to call it. I\u2019ve been sat at my laptop every day for months writing the scripts, oscillating between laughing uproariously and ugly crying. Granted that could also be to do with the global pandemic, but I hope the end product will have a similar effect on our audience. I am incredibly lucky to be working with a coven of brilliant women on this show, and we\u2019re particularly excited to have Molly Manners joining the team to direct series two. Molly is an incredible talent and we\u2019re thrilled to have ensnared her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nerys Evans, Expectation creative director for comedy and executive producer, said: \u201cFrom the pilot onwards, it has been so rewarding to work with such a talented group of creatives, Kayleigh\u2019s writing, the subject matter and the award-winning performances have all touched so many people and allowed people in similar situations to feel seen.
