The series takes place in 1960s Baltimore, where an unsolved murder pushes housewife and mother Maddie Schwartz (Portman) to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist. This sets her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood (Nyong\u2019o), a hard-working woman juggling motherhood, multiple jobs and a commitment to advancing Baltimore\u2019s Black progressive agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America, <em>Lady in the Lake<\/em> is directed and co-written by Alma Har\u2019el, who will serve as an executive producer on the project alongside Portman, Nyong\u2019o and Dre Ryan.
