London-based independent producer Nevision has entered into a strategic agreement with award-winning writer Jeff Murphy to exclusively develop high-end scripted projects.<\/p>\n
Through the deal, Murphy will work on his own original ideas and also help develop Nevision\u2019s slate of feature film and scripted TV series. He will work alongside Neil Zeiger, Nevision\u2019s creative director for scripted.<\/p>\n
Two initial projects to emerge from the new partnership are the supernatural thriller\/police procedural scripted series The Furies<\/em>, co-created by Mark Andrew; and the family movie Moifaa<\/em>, which tells the true story of New Zealand\u2019s first sporting hero. Both projects are being developed in association with New Zealand-based production company Pukeko Pictures. Also in development with Murphy is Saul<\/em>, a series that throws together a reluctant mother and her estranged son on a journey of discovery that crosses Europe.<\/p>\n Murphy has credits across a range of feature film and television projects. He won a BAFTA for Best Screenwriter for his TV series Hinterland<\/em>, and his feature film Justine has just been nominated for a BIFA. Murphy\u2019s feature film Denmark<\/em> was released in 2019 and he was writer\/producer on the TV crime series Hidden.<\/p>\n Zeiger said: \u201cJeff is a talented, inventive and dynamic screenwriter whose taste and skills are both eclectic and far reaching. The stories Jeff chooses to tell always go to the heart of the human condition. Consequently, they will appeal to a broad global audience.
