When a sexual blackmail case goes wrong, the trio attempts to launch a weed business to help them out of their struggles.<\/p>\n<p>La Claqueta PC will co-develop the series with VIS, with the participation of creators Alberto Marini and Olmo Figueredo Gonz\u00e1lez-Quevedo, who are serving as showrunners. Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez Su\u00e1rez is also a co-creator, as well as the lead writer on the series.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Abril, senior VP of VIS for EMEA and Asia, said: \u201cWe are excited to partner with La Claqueta, a production company internationally recognized for their work in the film and TV industry, on such an exciting project. By inking strategic partnerships with industry leaders, we demonstrate our commitment to delivering the best content for our viewers on all platforms: Jamila is another testament of our strategy to create and produce content that can both resonate locally and have a global reach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olmo Figueredo Gonz\u00e1lez-Quevedo added: \u201c<em>Jamila<\/em> will be my second experience with Alberto Marini after <em>Your Son<\/em> and with Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez after <em>Goodbye<\/em>. I couldn&#8217;t imagine a better team to shape this Sevillian story of drug trafficking, soccer, extortion, money and garbage. Lots of garbage.
