ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) has entered into a deal with the Spanish network RTVE and production company Onza to produce the police thriller Parot<\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>based on a controversial judicial reform carried out in Spain in 2013.<\/p>\n

The series will have ten hour-long episodes, which have begun filming in Madrid, Spain. Written by Pilar Nadal (showrunner), Alonso Laporta, Olga Salvador, Mauricio Romero, Luis Murillo and Luis Murillo Arias, Parot<\/em> is based on the 2013 decision to overturn Spain\u2019s \u201cParot Doctrine,\u201d an amendment that denied people convicted of serious crimes specific rights granted by Spanish law that limited or reduced the maximum term of imprisonment.<\/p>\n
