{"id":13530,"date":"2020-07-30T09:41:22","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T13:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/stanley-tucci-joins-cast-la-fortuna\/"},"modified":"2020-07-30T09:41:22","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T13:41:22","slug":"stanley-tucci-joins-cast-of-la-fortuna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/stanley-tucci-joins-cast-of-la-fortuna\/","title":{"rendered":"Stanley Tucci Joins Cast of La Fortuna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci (<em>The Lovely Bones<\/em>, <em>Big Night<\/em>, <em>The Devil Wears Prada<\/em>) has come on board Alejandro Amen\u00e1bar\u2019s original limited series <em>La Fortuna<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the Spanish graphic novel <em>El Tesoro del Cisne Negro<\/em> (<em>The Treasure of the Black Swan<\/em>) by Paco Roca and Guillermo Corral, the six-part series stars Tucci as treasure hunter Frank Wild. He joins the cast alongside \u00c1lvaro Mel, who plays inexperienced diplomat Alex Ventura, and Ana Polvorosa, as Alex\u2019s colleague in work and adventure, Lucia.<\/p>\n<p>AMC Studios and Movistar+ will produce the series in collaboration with MOD Pictures. Production begins this week on location in Madrid, C\u00e1diz, Zaragoza, Galicia and the Basque Country, and will move to North America in 2021. The series will premiere in 2021 on AMC in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean as well as Movistar+ in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Amen\u00e1bar is also slated to make his television directorial debut directing all six episodes.<\/p>\n<p>Amen\u00e1bar commented, &#8220;These days shooting a series such as this one is a big challenge that all our team takes on with enormous enthusiasm and responsibility. <em>La Fortuna<\/em> is fundamentally about optimism and the will to fight. Alex Ventura&#8217;s journey is also ours.
