{"id":13402,"date":"2020-07-02T10:09:04","date_gmt":"2020-07-02T14:09:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/landmark-studio-group-pacts-orwo-studios-thriller-safehaven\/"},"modified":"2020-07-02T12:53:09","modified_gmt":"2020-07-02T16:53:09","slug":"landmark-studio-group-pacts-with-orwo-studios-for-thriller-safehaven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/landmark-studio-group-pacts-with-orwo-studios-for-thriller-safehaven\/","title":{"rendered":"Landmark Studio Group Pacts with ORWO Studios for Thriller Safehaven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Landmark Studio Group, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment company, and Louisiana-based production studio ORWO Studios have partnered to produce <em>Safehaven<\/em>, a new supernatural thriller series.<\/p>\n<p>The ten-part series will tell the story of high school comic artist Jenna Frost, who must uncover the truth after terrifying visions come to life from her creations, threatening to destroy everything around her. <em>Safehaven<\/em> was created by James Seale (<em>30 Below<\/em>, <em>Throttle<\/em>), who will serve as showrunner, with Brad Turner (<em>24<\/em>, <em>Designated Survivor<\/em>, <em>Homeland<\/em>) on board to direct.<\/p>\n<p>Executive producers include Brad Turner, James Seale, Jessica Petelle (<em>Wayward Pines<\/em>, <em>Bitten<\/em>), Kevin V. Duncan (<em>Juncture<\/em>), Tom Vitale (<em>Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown<\/em>), ORWO Productions\u2019 Terry Bird and Jake Seal, Landmark\u2019s David Ozer and Tim Rouhana and Michael Bay\u2019s 451 Media Group. Landmark will market the series, which will be distributed by Screen Media.<\/p>\n<p>Landmark\u2019s Ozer said: \u201c<em>Safehaven<\/em> takes the high school drama into new territory wrapping it in a 70\u2019s style conspiracy thriller of suspense, paranoia, dark humor and otherworldly horror. It\u2019s <em>Euphoria<\/em> meets H.P. Lovecraft, and has all of the elements to deliver an empowering, edge-of-your-seat experience, with James\u2019 dynamic script and Brad\u2019s proven talent leading the charge, along with a top-notch production team. ORWO Studios, with its large studio lot and accommodation, is the perfect place to shoot in these challenging times\u2014where we can isolate the cast and crew in a secure, quarantined environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ORWO Studio\u2019s Seal added: \u201cThere are so many interesting facets to shooting in Louisiana and no better location for a supernatural thriller. Like everyone else, we are ready to get back into production and to collaborate with Landmark and the stellar production team to bring <em>Safehaven<\/em> to life this fall. Excitingly this production is going to embrace the best of old-world production techniques, including analog film stocks, from the ORWO\/Agfa collection and also cutting edge Virtual Set technologies to create the exciting parallel world in the <em>Safehaven<\/em> story.
