{"id":13232,"date":"2020-05-28T09:11:44","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T13:11:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/lighthouse-options-juno-dawson-ya-trilogy-tv\/"},"modified":"2020-05-28T10:55:26","modified_gmt":"2020-05-28T14:55:26","slug":"the-lighthouse-options-juno-dawson-ya-trilogy-for-tv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/the-lighthouse-options-juno-dawson-ya-trilogy-for-tv\/","title":{"rendered":"The Lighthouse Options Juno Dawson YA Trilogy for TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lighthouse has optioned the global television rights to Juno Dawson&#8217;s trilogy of novels: <em>Clean<\/em>, <em>Meat Market<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Wonderland<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Clean<\/em>\u00a0(2018)\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Meat Market<\/em>\u00a0(2019) were both published to critical acclaim, with\u00a0<em>Meat Market<\/em>\u00a0shortlisted for the forthcoming 2020 YA Book Prize.\u00a0The third book in the trilogy,\u00a0<em>Wonderland<\/em>, was released by Hachette Children\u2019s Books today (May 28).<\/p>\n<p>The Lighthouse, which is backed by Sky Studios, launched in fall 2019. It was founded by Hilary Salmon,\u00a0Radford\u00a0Neville\u00a0and Nick Betts.<\/p>\n<p>The Lighthouse said: \u201cWe have loved Juno\u2019s novels for a very long time and so we&#8217;re really excited to read the manuscript for her latest book,\u00a0<em>Wonderland<\/em>. It is predictably brilliant and along with\u00a0<em>Meat Market\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Clean<\/em>\u00a0creates a vibrant world where privilege and the upper reaches of society clash with the disadvantaged and the troubled. Juno\u2019s voice is intimate, provocative and insightful whilst dealing with difficult subjects such as addiction and identity. Her novels articulate the complexity of growing up in these peculiar and exciting times and are bursting with unforgettable characters and pin-sharp dialogue. We feel privileged to be working with Juno to bring her novels to the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dawson said: \u201cI was incredibly impressed by The Lighthouse\u2019s ambitious vision for the world\u00a0that my young heroines occupy.\u00a0It\u2019s an epic, opulent version of London ruled by socialites and social climbers on a scale that few young adult shows have attempted before.
