Amazon has greenlit four new local original series from Argentina, Chile and Colombia, the first locally produced Amazon Originals to launch in these markets.<\/p>\n
From Argentina, there\u2019s the eight-part spy thriller Iosi, El Esp\u00eda Arrepentido<\/em> (Iosi, The Repentant Spy<\/em>) based on real-life events. It tells the story of a young Argentinean intelligence agent looking for redemption after infiltrating a Jewish community to gather information that was allegedly used for two terrorist attacks that left over 100 dead. The series is produced by The Mediapro Studio company Oficina Burman.<\/p>\n The Chilean originals are the mystery thriller La Jaur\u00eda<\/em> (The Pack<\/em>) and the docuseries Colonia Dignidad <\/em>(Dignity Colony<\/em>). The former, co-produced by Fremantle and Fabula, centers on a young girl in a Catholic school who becomes the center of a police investigation that exposes a deadly online game; while the latter explores the hidden truths behind one of Chile\u2019s most dangerous cults.<\/p>\n Noticia de un Secuestro<\/em> (News of a Kidnapping<\/em>), a Colombian original drama series, is based on the nonfiction book by Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez. Produced by Invercine & Wood, the six-part limited series tells the story of a small group of individuals kidnapped in 1990 by Colombian drug lords and the efforts of their loved ones to free them.<\/p>\n In addition to being available in their local markets, the series will also be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.<\/p>\n James Farrell, head of international Amazon Originals at Amazon Studios, said: \u201cWe know our Prime Video audiences across Latin America are eager for local shows from the best local voices, and we couldn\u2019t be more excited to introduce these first local series for Argentina, Chile and Colombia that already have some of the most locally renowned directors and talent attached.
