Produced by Silverprint Pictures, <em>Shetland<\/em> is adapted from Ann Cleeves\u2019 celebrated novels and is created and written by David Kane (<em>Stonemouth<\/em>, <em>The Field of Blood<\/em>). Kane will write the new seasons alongside Paul Logue (<em>Vera<\/em>, <em>Death in Paradise<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Gaynor Holmes, commissioning editor for BBC Drama in Scotland, said: &#8220;We are really proud of <em>Shetland<\/em>, the crime series led by DI Perez and his team has proved hugely popular with audiences both in Scotland and across the rest of the U.K.. BBC One viewers are set for an unmissable series from David Kane when it returns next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kate Bartlett, executive producer at Silverprint Pictures, added: \u201cI\u2019m so thrilled to be making two more series of <em>Shetland<\/em> for the BBC, with our wonderful Scottish cast and crew.
