Written by BAFTA Award-winning novelist and screenwriter Coe (<em>Apple Tree Yard<\/em>, <em>Room at the Top<\/em>, <em>Life in Squares<\/em>), the series takes a look at the chain of events involved in what became known as the Profumo affair.<\/p>\n<p>Cookson (<em>Kingsman: The Secret Service<\/em>, <em>Gypsy<\/em>, <em>Red Joan<\/em>) stars in the title role as Christine Keeler, the 19-year-old who was caught in the middle of a story involving sexual and cultural politics. Miles (<em>The Capture<\/em>, <em>The Crown<\/em>, <em>The Last Post<\/em>) plays British politician John Profumo, known\u00a0more commonly as Jack.
