{"id":12154,"date":"2019-10-16T04:31:49","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T08:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cbssi-channel-4-pact-star-trek-discovery\/"},"modified":"2019-10-16T04:58:38","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T08:58:38","slug":"cbssi-channel-4-pact-for-star-trek-discovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/cbssi-channel-4-pact-for-star-trek-discovery\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Trek: Discovery Lands Linear Slot in the U.K."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Channel 4 is giving <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em> a linear television premiere in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>The deal between the two companies also includes the U.K. launch on E4 of the CBS comedy <em>Man with a Plan<\/em>, starring Matt LeBlanc (<em>Friends<\/em>). <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em>, which streams on the CBS subscription service CBS All Access in the U.S., and <em>Man with a Plan<\/em> will launch on E4 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>CBS Studios International (CBSSI) licensed the show to C4.<\/p>\n<p>Barry Chamberlain, president of sales at CBSSI, said: \u201cWe\u2019re excited to bring the linear television rights for <em>Star Trek: Discovery<\/em> to the international market and launch in the U.K. with our valued friends at Channel 4. This agreement features the best of both worlds\u2014premium subscription content from a global franchise and a very popular network comedy from America\u2019s most-watched network.
