Local filmmakers Tigmanshu Dhulia and Aijza Khan are directing the series, and the Indian adaptation, which is yet to be titled, will launch on Hotstar later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <em>Doctor Foster<\/em> will return to screens in France, following the airing of the first season last year. Renamed locally as <em>Infid\u00e8le<\/em> (<em>Unfaithful<\/em>), BBC Studios\u2019 French production base will also co-produce the second season of the format with Storia Television for TF1.<\/p>\n<p><em>Doctor Foster<\/em> was originally written by Mike Bartlett and produced by Drama Republic for BBC One and has previously been licensed to Russia, France and South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>Sumi Connock, creative director of formats at BBC Studios, said, \u201cStrong female-led dramas continue to capture the attention of our clients. <em>Doctor Foster<\/em>\u2019s unique and brilliant portrayal of adultery and revenge has provided a complex psychological thriller within the genre, so I\u2019m especially pleased that India will be getting their own local version and France will soon be treated to the next chapter of Infid\u00e8le.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sameer Gogate, business head of production for India at BBC Studios, said, \u201cThe original <em>Doctor Foster<\/em> has a tremendous following internationally, and we believe that an Indian version will work very well in our region. BBC dramas have been consistently raising the quality bar for the Indian audience with shows like <em>Criminal Justice<\/em>.
