Swedish star Alexander Karim (<em>Tyrant<\/em>) returns to headline the new season, which picks up immediately from the cliffhanger ending to season one.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-part series is based on an idea by best-selling Swedish author Jens Lapidus, Hans Rosenfeldt (<em>The Bridge<\/em>) and Michael Hjorth (<em>Alex<\/em>) and is written by Charlotte Lesche and Karin Gidfors (<em>The Lawyer<\/em> season one). The series is distributed internationally by STUDIOCANAL.<\/p>\n<p>Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, Viaplay chief content officer, said: \u201cThe verdict is in: <em>The Lawyer<\/em> is irrefutable evidence of how high-quality local storytelling attracts large-scale audiences across the Nordic region and beyond.
