It will be published on September 10.<\/p>\n<p>MGM and Hulu are currently in discussions with\u00a0<em>Handmaid\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0showrunner Bruce Miller about how the upcoming novel can become an important extension to the award-winning <em>Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u00a0<\/em>series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMargaret Atwood is a literary icon who continues to delight and challenge readers through her provocative and compelling prose,\u201d said Steve Stark, president of television production at MGM. \u201cShe has been an incredible creative partner and resource to MGM throughout the production of <em>Handmaid\u2019s<\/em> and we look forward to working with her on the story\u2019s exciting next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Craig Erwich, senior VP of originals at Hulu, added: \u201cMargaret Atwood is one of the visionary storytellers of her generation. From her\u00a0award-winning poetry, short stories and novels, Margaret has continually pushed boundaries and broken barriers to bring innovative stories to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This represents the third collaboration between Atwood and MGM Television.
