FX has ordered the drama series The Old Man<\/em>, which will star Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges as a retired CIA officer.<\/p>\n

Based on Thomas Perry\u2019s best-selling novel of the same name, The Old Man<\/em> centers on former operative Dan Chase (Bridges), who ends up in the crosshairs of an assassin while living off the grid decades after leaving the CIA behind. Production on the pilot for the series, written by Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine, will commence this fall.<\/p>\n

The Old Man<\/em> is executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Levine, Bridges and David Schiff. It is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios in association with The Littlefield Company.<\/p>\n

Nick Grad, co-president of original programming at FX Entertainment, said: “Jeff Bridges is an iconic, extraordinary actor and to have him as the star of this series is an incredible moment for FX. Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine have delivered an amazing pilot script and Jeff is perfect for the role of Dan Chase. We’re also happy to be working with Warren Littlefield, with whom we’ve had such a terrific partnership on Fargo<\/em>, along with our partners at Fox 21.”<\/p>\n
