For the new seasons, Ardal O\u2019Hanlon will return to head up the Saint Marie police team as lead detective DI Jack Mooney alongside Tobi Bakare, Shyko Amos, Don Warrington and Elizabeth Bourgine. Aude Legastelois joins as series regular.<\/p>\n<p>Legastelois said: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled that I\u2019ve been given the opportunity to continue my role as Madeleine and to rejoin the cast of <em>Death in Paradise<\/em>. I can\u2019t wait for Madeleine to be fully integrated into the Honor\u00e9 Police team and for the viewers to get to know her further.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tim Key, executive producer at Red Planet Pictures, said: \u201cWe\u2019re over the moon with the response to series eight and can\u2019t wait to get back to Guadeloupe to start filming the new series. It\u2019s an honor to be part of a show which is so loved by its audience and the decision to commission two series shows how much it is valued by the BBC. We\u2019re excited to let the audience get to know our new characters better whilst also throwing some major surprises into the mix along the way\u2014and of course solving the odd murder or sixteen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tommy Bulfin, BBC Drama Commissioning Editor, added: \u201cWe are delighted to announce that <em>Death in Paradise<\/em> is coming back to BBC One.
