{"id":10739,"date":"2019-02-08T10:25:32","date_gmt":"2019-02-08T15:25:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/epix-itv-team-julian-fellowes-belgravia\/"},"modified":"2019-02-08T10:50:11","modified_gmt":"2019-02-08T15:50:11","slug":"epix-itv-team-for-julian-fellowes-belgravia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvdrama\/epix-itv-team-for-julian-fellowes-belgravia\/","title":{"rendered":"EPIX &#038; ITV Team for Julian Fellowes\u2019 Belgravia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ITV has commissioned Julian Fellowes\u2019 six-part series <em>Belgravia<\/em>, with U.S. cable network EPIX also on board.<\/p>\n<p>The series will be produced by Carnival Films, which was behind Fellowes\u2019 global hit <em>Downton Abbey<\/em>. <em>Belgravia<\/em> reunites the <em>Downton<\/em> creative team with Fellowes adapting his best-selling novel for the screen and Carnival\u2019s Gareth Neame executive producing alongside Nigel Marchant, Liz Trubridge and Fellowes.<\/p>\n<p>Casting is currently underway and filming begins this spring. John Alexander (<em>Sense &amp; Sensibility<\/em>) will direct the limited series with Colin Wratten (<em>Killing Eve<\/em>) producing.<\/p>\n<p><em>Belgravia<\/em> focuses on the upper echelon of London society in the 19th century. When the Trenchards accept an invitation to the now-legendary ball hosted by the Duchess of Richmond on the fateful evening of the Battle of Waterloo, it sets in motion a series of events that will have consequences for decades to come.<\/p>\n<p>Polly Hill, ITV\u2019s head of drama, said: &#8220;We&#8217;re delighted to be reuniting with Julian Fellowes, Gareth Neame and Carnival Films to produce <em>Belgravia<\/em> for ITV. It&#8217;s a tale of scandal and intrigue set in 1840s London with some wonderful characters spanning two generations at its heart.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Neame commented: \u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to be working again with Julian, a master storyteller. In <em>Belgravia<\/em>, he has painted a wonderful backdrop of 19th-century society against which intrigue and dynastic power struggles will play out.
