Produced by MOOVIE, a Constantin Film subsidiary, and directed by Uli Edel (<em>Hotel Adlon<\/em>, <em>The Baader Meinhof Complex<\/em>, <em>Houdini<\/em>), the miniseries starts in Germany in 1920.<\/p>\n<p>It follows as young master butcher Fidelis returns from WWI and marries Eva, the pregnant fianc\u00e9e of his fallen friend. Since his family\u2019s butchery can\u2019t provide for all of them, Fidelis soon decides to emigrate to America.
