Netflix has given the go-ahead to a World War II animated drama series from A+E Studios, as well as a new sci-fi project with Urban Myth Films.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/i>Liberator <\/i>is\u00a0based on the book The Liberator: One World War II Soldier\u2019s 500-Day\u00a0<\/em>Odyssey\u00a0<\/em>by Alex Kershaw. Created by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive<\/i>), the four-parter will tell the story of\u00a0U.S. Army officer Felix Sparks and his infantry unit’s 500-day quest to liberate Europe. It will be produced in\u00a0Trioscope Enhanced Hybrid Animation, which combines CGI and live-action performance.\u00a0The\u00a0<\/i>Liberator <\/i>is being produced by\u00a0A+E Studios and Unique Features in partnership with Atlanta-based animation studio School of Humans.<\/p>\n

The One<\/em>, meanwhile, is a ten-part show based on the sci-fi novel by John Marrs from\u00a0Urban Myth Films in association with STUDIOCANAL. It is set five minutes in the future in a world where you can find your perfect match by a DNA test.<\/p>\n

The streamer also announced that Lily James and Armie Hammer are on board the adaptation of\u00a0Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca<\/em> from Working Title Films. In addition, Netflix has set December 1 as the launch date for Studio Dragon’s new Korean series\u00a0Memories of the Alhambra<\/i>. It will first be available in much of Asia and English-speaking markets an hour after the Korean broadcast, and then in Japan on the next day.\u00a0<\/span>Memories of Alhambra\u00a0<\/i>will launch two episodes a week in the rest of the world starting from December 11, including Europe and South America.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
