Red Arrow Studios’ Endor Productions and Austria’s MR Film are co-producing the new drama series Vienna Blood<\/em>, which will be globally distributed by Red Arrow Studios International.<\/p>\n

Set in the 1900s, Vienna Blood<\/em> (Liebermann<\/em>) is based on the best-selling novels penned by Frank Tallis about a prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of Freud who teams up with a detective to help investigate a series of disturbing murders. The cast is being led by Matthew Beard and Juergen Maurer. ORF in Austria and ZDF in Germany are commissioning broadcasters and co-production partners.<\/p>\n

Filmed in English, Vienna Blood<\/em> will comprise three feature-length episodes, the first of which begins production this month in Vienna. The series\u00a0is being directed by Robert Dornhelm and Umut Dag.<\/p>\n

Producer Hilary Bevan Jones commented: \u201cWe are delighted to be bringing Frank Tallis\u2019s outstanding novels to life in the historic and beautiful city of Vienna. Having Matthew Beard and Juergen Maurer as our leading actors is the icing on the cake.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlo Dusi, the executive VP of commercial strategy for scripted at Red Arrow Studios International, said: \u201cVienna Blood<\/em> is a great example of the kind of bold, ambitious international drama we are passionate about at Red Arrow Studios International. Shot in English but set in turn of the century Vienna at a time of extraordinary change, and featuring a superb creative team, we are looking forward to introducing the series to the global market.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andreas Kamm of MR Film noted: \u201cVienna Blood<\/em> is a fabulous mixture of incredible crime stories infused with entertainment and the unique atmosphere of early 20th-century Vienna. It is the kind of high-quality TV drama that people are asking for all over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Klaus Lintschinger of ORF stated: \u201cWe are thrilled to continue the tradition of co-producing high-end international drama with a distinct Austrian touch that we hope will appeal to domestic as well as international audiences. While we have long-standing and successful relationships with partners ZDF and MR Film, we are delighted to welcome Red Arrow Studios International and Endor Productions into this great collaborative effort to bring Frank Tallis\u2019s novels to the TV screen.\u201d<\/p>\n
