Mediapro has signed an agreement with VICE Studios for the co-development and co-production of original scripted series in Latin America.<\/p>\n
The partnership includes Border Republic<\/em>, which takes place on the border between the U.S. and Mexico. The series will focus on the cities of Matamoros and Brownsville, which, although located in different countries, share a similar culture. Production kicks off next year throughout the natural landscapes on the border.<\/p>\n Daniel Burman, content director of Mediapro in the U.S., said: \u201cVICE has renewed the documentary language to such an extent that merely a frame is necessary to recognize their signature. Their narrative codes are unmistakable, and their way of telling stories has left behind the purely audiovisual to become a unique phenomenon of the culture of our days.
