Banijay Rights has taken on global distribution for The Gulf<\/em>, a brand-new international drama co-production.<\/p>\n

The six-part co-pro is from New Zealand\u2019s Screentime (Straight Forward<\/em>,\u00a0Dear Murderer<\/em>), Lippy Pictures (Jean<\/em>, Field Punishment No. 1<\/em>), German fiction specialist Letterbox Filmproduktion (Bad Banks<\/em>)\u00a0and broadcaster ZDF. The Gulf<\/em> is about the moral disintegration of Detective Jess Savage\u2014who finds herself grappling with the idea that justice isn\u2019t always right and some crimes aren\u2019t wrong\u2014as she investigates cases on her home patch of Waiheke Island, New Zealand.<\/p>\n

MediaWorks\u2019 Three in New Zealand and Nine in Australia are set to air the drama.<\/p>\n

The creative expertise of all three production houses will ensure that a very special production is delivered to our screens. This dark series is juxtaposed by its setting in the natural harbor of New Zealand\u2019s stunning Hauraki Gulf and Waiheke Island.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simone Emmelius, ZDF’s head of feature films and co-production, remarked, \u201cWe are happy to break new grounds with The Gulf<\/em> and bring an amazing show set in New Zealand to our audience. This series is a further step to expand our co-production slate.\u201d<\/p>\n
