LONDON: The U.K.’s Channel 5 has picked up the U.S. event series Heroes Reborn for its sister network 5*.

The 13-episode series is due out next year. From creator/executive producer Tim Kring, the title is a follow-up to the 2006 original drama Heroes. Both titles center on a group of regular people who suddenly become aware that they have superpowers. Heroes Reborn is produced by Imperative Entertainment, in association with Universal Television. NBCUniversal International Distribution handles the show’s rights.

Katie Keenan, Channel 5’s head of acquisitions, said:As 5* moves to being the place for the hottest young drama around, Heroes Reborn is an exciting new addition to its 2016 lineup. The channel will make a great home for the show as we introduce the world of the Heroes to a new audience as well as the many fans who enjoyed the original series.”
