ZDF Boards SkyShowtime’s The Trio

ZDF has boarded the SkyShowtime original The Trio (Trion), represented by Eccho Rights, as a co-production partner and will broadcast the show on its main channel and its DACH region affiliate channels.

“Since announcing The Trio (Trion), interest was immediate, with international partners captured by the unique story and demonstrably strong IP of Johanna Hedman’s novel,” said Herbert Kloiber, CEO of Night Train Media, one of the series’ co-production partners. “We’re delighted that ZDF has come on board as co-production partner and broadcaster—a fantastic endorsement of the series’ cross-border appeal.”

The six-part series stars August Wittgenstein (The Crown), Felix Sandman (Sommartider), Seth Manteus (Cherries) and Rebecka Harper, among others. It tells a story of love, sex and passion while reflecting on the relentless passage of time.

The Trio is directed by Anders Hazelius and written by Veronica Zacco. ZDF joins partners SkyShowtime, SF Studios, Night Train Media, SVT and Film Stockholm in bringing the story to life on screen.

Worldwide sales outside of SkyShowtime and ZDF’s territories are handled by Night Train Media’s Eccho Rights.
