Two Qu\u00e9bec series are finalists for the Diversify TV Awards: Pour toi Flora<\/em> (Nish Media) in the representation of race and ethnicity scripted category and Audrey est revenue<\/em> (Pixcom) in the representation of disability scripted category. They were selected as finalists from 191 submissions from 27 county tries.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is a great honor that our series [Pour toi Flora<\/em>] has been selected [at MIPCOM] from among so many marvelous projects, and we are deeply touched,\u201d Jason Brenan, president and producer at Nish Media. \u201cWe hope that this visibility enables a broader audience to better understand the history of Indigenous peoples, acknowledge the issues they face and, especially, recognize their incredible resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n Nicola Merola, president and producer at Pixcom, said, \u201cPixcom\u2019s participation at major international markets such as Content London and MIPCOM is crucial for developing relationships with distributors and showcasing our series abroad. In addition to support provided during these events, SODEC\u2019S invaluable backing made it possible for us to personally attend and present Audrey est revenue<\/em> at Canneseries this year and come away with two prestigious awards, helping to make the production an international success.\u201d<\/p>\n To help promote youth series, SODEC coordinated the production of a catalog featuring 14 productions. Sent to targeted buyers, the catalog has resulted in 20 meetings with buyers, including Apple TV+, Canal+, Yle, NRK, EBS and Stan Entertainment.<\/p>\n The Qu\u00e9bec presence at MIPCOM is organized by SODEC in collaboration with the Association qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise de la production m\u00e9diatique (AQPM) and with the support of the National Bank of Canada and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.<\/p>\n SODEC is also a partner of the second cohort of the Canadian Creative Accelerator (CCA) organized by the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles. At MIPCOM, five Qu\u00e9bec businesses (Attraction, Pixcom, Productions Avenida, Zone3 and Blachfilms) will meet with U.S. studios and businesses under the auspices of the Canadian Consulate in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n \u201cSODEC maintains a strong presence on the international scene in supporting and driving Qu\u00e9bec series,\u201d said SODEC President and CEO Louise Lantagne. \u201cEvents such as Coming Next from Qu\u00e9bec play a prominent role in showcasing series for international buyers, programmers and broadcasters.
