{"id":2883,"date":"2022-06-02T10:15:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-02T14:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvcanada\/ctv-adds-east-new-york-rookie-feds-night-court\/"},"modified":"2022-06-02T12:13:28","modified_gmt":"2022-06-02T16:13:28","slug":"ctv-adds-east-new-york-the-rookie-feds-night-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvcanada\/ctv-adds-east-new-york-the-rookie-feds-night-court\/","title":{"rendered":"CTV Adds East New York, The Rookie: Feds, Night Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CTV has lined up a set of new series for the 2022-23 season that includes <em>East New York<\/em>, from the executive producers of <em>NYPD Blue<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>East New York<\/em> is about the newly promoted police captain of East New York, with Amanda Warren and Jimmy Smits in lead roles.<\/p>\n<p>Also coming to CTV is the spin-off of the hit series <em>The Rookie<\/em>, <em>The Rookie: Feds<\/em>, starring Niecy Nash-Betts as the oldest rookie at the FBI Academy. <em>Alaska<\/em>, from the Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy (<em>Spotlight<\/em>), follows a disgraced reporter looking for redemption at an Anchorage newspaper. Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank stars.<\/p>\n<p>For midseason, CTV\u2019s lineup features <em>True Lies<\/em>, an adaptation of James Cameron\u2019s international spy blockbuster with Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga; the character-driven drama <em>Alert<\/em>, about the LAPD\u2019s Missing Persons Unit from John Eisendrath, Jamie Foxx and Datari Turner; and <em>Night Court<\/em>, a follow-up to the hit 1980s sitcom starring Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette, reprising his role as Dan Fielding.<\/p>\n<p><em>Celebrity Jeopardy!<\/em>, a spin-off of the iconic game show featuring famous faces competing to donate money to a chosen charity, also joins the CTV schedule.<\/p>\n<p>CTV\u2019s Specialty Channels have also expanded their offerings. CTV Sci-Fi Channel is adding <em>The Winchesters<\/em>, a prequel to the hit series <em>Supernatural<\/em>, centered on Dean and Sam\u2019s parents; and <em>The Ark<\/em>, which follows planetary colonization missions in the race to save human beings from extinction. CTV Drama Channel has lined up <em>Panhandle<\/em>, centered on eccentric, agoraphobic arm-chair detective Bell Prescott, who enlists the reluctant help of the local traffic cop.
