{"id":2859,"date":"2022-03-30T10:51:15","date_gmt":"2022-03-30T14:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvcanada\/bell-media-partners-black-team-anthology-series\/"},"modified":"2022-03-30T10:51:15","modified_gmt":"2022-03-30T14:51:15","slug":"bell-media-partners-with-all-black-team-for-anthology-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvcanada\/bell-media-partners-with-all-black-team-for-anthology-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Bell Media Partners With All-Black Team for Anthology Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bell Media has partnered with an all-Black production team to develop <em>Festivale<\/em>, Canada\u2019s first bilingual anthology series by and about Black Canadians.<\/p>\n<p>Francophone executive producers Marie Ka and Richard Jean-Baptiste and anglophone executive producers Damon D&#8217;Oliveira and Clement Virgo are collaborating on the series, which is an answer to the lack of Black francophone stories on main-stream TV.<\/p>\n<p><em>Festivale<\/em> serves as a pre-development incubator administered by the Black Screen Office (BSO), supporting creative teams who have not had the opportunity to produce content for a large network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Festivale<\/em> is a groundbreaking experience where Black Canadian writers, both French and English, get the chance to finally work together on the same project,\u201d said Ka, Jean-Baptiste, D&#8217;Oliveira and Virgo. \u201cWe can&#8217;t thank Bell Media enough for bridging the language gap and lending their support to this timely creative journey.
