The Qu\u00e9bec TV Festival is being held in association with the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de d\u00e9veloppement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC). Overseen by Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s Minister of Culture and Communication, SODEC promotes and supports the development of Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s cultural industry at home and abroad. SODEC also coordinates umbrella operations and co-production initiatives at major international markets through the \u201cQu\u00e9bec Creates\u201d banner.<\/p>\n

Clicking on each show title will take you directly to the trailer.<\/strong><\/p>\n Attraction International Distribution is showcasing The Sketch Artist<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, a crime thriller centered on a young forensic sketch artist capable of \u201creading\u201d people that delivers \u201ca diverse cast of engaging characters, cinematic production value and twisty plots,\u201d according to Max Oliveras, VP.<\/p>\n Babel films has three highlights in the festival: the acclaimed drama series Je voudrais qu\u2019on m\u2019efface <\/a><\/strong><\/em>(Wipe Me Away<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a> and \u00c9crivain public<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (Public Writer<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a> and the documentary feature Les Rose<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (The Rose Family<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n C\u2019est la vie! (Les moments parfaits)<\/a><\/strong><\/em> is a family drama, consisting of two seasons, being offered up by Encore International. \u201cFilled with highs and lows, doubts and indecisions, viewers will witness the choices the series\u2019 characters will make in the hope of finding a better future,\u201d says Chrystine Girard, head of international distribution.<\/p>\n Kids\u2019 IP developer Epic Storyworlds is promoting Dex and the Humanimals<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, an animated comedy adventure that Steve Couture, executive producer, says \u201ccontains all the elements to captivate and delight kids from ages 7 to 11.\u201d<\/p>\n There\u2019s also a kids\u2019 series on offer from Gala Productions: The Adventures of Li\u2019lDoc<\/strong><\/a><\/em>. \u201cOn each adventure, Li\u2019lDoc uses all her medical expertise in combination with advice and knowledge from local communities,\u201d says Philippe R\u00e9gnoux, CEO and producer.<\/p>\n Happy Camper M\u00e9dia is working with Zodiak Kids on the rollout of Super Agent Jon Le Bon!<\/a><\/strong><\/em> \u201cWe are confident that children around the world will fall under the charm of this one-of-a-kind Super Agent following its huge Canadian success,\u201d says Delphine Dumont, senior VP of sales, acquisitions and co-productions at Zodiak Kids.<\/p>\n Id\u00e9acom International has two docs on offer in the festival: Who Was the Real Neanderthal?<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, sold by Cineflix Rights, and the five-part science series Human+, The Future of Our Senses<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n Romantic comedies lead the offer for Incendo, with three new productions featured in the festival. Destination Love<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which was shot in New Zealand, Love Knots<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and Sweet as Maple Syrup<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n Just for Laughs Distribution, meanwhile, is delivering a slate of comedy, including the sitcom Humour Resources<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, Just for Laughs Stand Up<\/a><\/strong><\/em> specials, the long-running Just for Laughs Gags<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and the kids\u2019 prank series Just Kidding<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n Inspired by the life of Olympic medalist Marianne Saint-Gelais, KO Distribution\u2019s eight-part drama Virage<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (Veer<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a> \u201ctackles the void that professional athletes struggle with when they end their career,\u201d says Barbara Vallant, head of formats, sales and acquisitions at aroma-TV.<\/p>\n Muse Distribution International has new TV movies available in the festival, including Aurora Teagarden Mysteries<\/a><\/strong><\/em> starring Candace Cameron Bure; the romantic comedies Flip That Romance<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and The Last Bridesmaid<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and the holiday drama A Perfect Christmas<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n French-Canadian social media influencers Jessie Nadeau, Lucie Rh\u00e9aume and Claudine Langlois venture to India to regroup in No Water Studios\u2019 four-part series Seekers in India<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. \u201cIn the process, they discover forms of meditation, yoga and immerse themselves in their own cultural activities,\u201d says producer Colin Riendeau.<\/p>\n Prestigo Medias, founded by Daniel Coutu, specializes in high-quality kids\u2019 fare and is promoting Critters & Co<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, geared to kids aged 7 to 12, with one season available and a second in production.<\/p>\n Productions Avenida is behind Jenny<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, a series about a teenager dealing with a leukemia diagnosis. The show, which was nominated for an International Emmy Kids Award, is being distributed by Attraction International Distribution.<\/p>\n PVP Media has on offer two animated shows\u2014Woolly Woolly<\/a><\/strong><\/em>and Cosmo the Dodo Bird<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u2014and the 13-part factual series Secrets of the Deep<\/a><\/strong><\/em> featuring diver Mario Cyr and maritime historian Samuel C\u00f4t\u00e9.<\/p>\n St Laurent TV International makes Punch Club<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, an eight-part improv comedy competition with \u201cstreet battle styled improvisations, the effervescence of a rap show coupled and the excitement of UFC,\u201d says Lou B\u00e9langer, producer.<\/p>\n Tom\u2019s Tiny Toys<\/a><\/strong><\/em> is a new upper preschool series from Syon Media about a 6-year-old boy who discovers a set of robot toys that come alive.<\/p>\n New from WaZabi Films is the documentary feature My Tree<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, in which filmmaker Jason Sherman sets off to understand the origins of a tree planted in his name through the Jewish National Fund.<\/p>\n Zone 3 has two selections in the festival: the comedy Teodore Without the H <\/a><\/strong><\/em>(Teodore pas de H<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a> and the teen drama Entitled<\/a><\/strong><\/em>(Les Petits Rois<\/em>)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
