CBC has revealed its 2017-18 lineup, which includes the legal drama Burden of Proof<\/em>, starring Kristin Kreuk, and Caught<\/em>, adapted from Lisa Moore\u2019s acclaimed novel.<\/p>\n

Monday nights this fall on CBC will see a new season of Murdoch Mysteries<\/em> at 8 p.m., followed by\u00a0Alias Grace<\/em>, based on the Margaret Atwood novel, at 9 p.m. In November, the 9 p.m. hour will be taken over by Frankie Drake<\/em>, from the producers of Murdoch Mysteries<\/em>, following Toronto\u2019s only female private detective in the 1920s.<\/p>\n

Tuesdays feature new seasons of returning shows Rick Mercer Report<\/em>, This Hour Has 22 Minutes<\/em>, Kim\u2019s Convenience<\/em> and Mr. D<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Wednesdays are packed with new series. The night is led by The Great British Baking Show<\/em>\/The Great Canadian Baking Show<\/em>, followed by The Durrells<\/em>. In October, the new chapter of Top of the Lake<\/em>, entitled China Girl<\/em>, will take over at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n

Dragons\u2019 Den<\/em> moves to a new night, Thursdays at 8 p.m., followed by the new series The Detectives<\/em>, a true-crime show that brings to life the real cases of Canadian detectives by blending first-person interviews with scripted drama.<\/p>\n

Fridays will see new seasons of Marketplace<\/em>, Interrupt This Program<\/em> and the fifth estate<\/em>. The factual series The Stats of Life<\/em>, which reveals surprising truths about how Canadians are living today based on recent population statistics, will move into the Friday 8:30 p.m. slot starting in November.<\/p>\n

Sundays will feature a new season of Heartland<\/em> leading the evening, followed by The Nature of Things<\/em> and Firsthand<\/em>\u2014both of which are on a new night.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kristin Kreuk stars in Burden of Proof<\/em> as a big city lawyer passed over for partnership who returns to her hometown to take on what she thinks is a simple case, only to find herself in a fight for justice for a group of sick girls. The show is coming to CBC in winter 2018. Also slated for the winter lineup is Caught<\/em>, a new drama set in 1978.<\/p>\n
