The\u00a0Canada Media Fund\u00a0(CMF),\u00a0Proim\u00e1genes Colombia and\u00a0MinTIC\u00a0(Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Colombia) have agreed to establish an incentive for the co-development of projects created for digital platforms by\u00a0Canadian and Colombian producers.<\/p>\n

Projects eligible for funding must involve producers that meet the organizations\u2019 criteria. These can be fiction, documentary and\/or animated projects created for digital platforms and meant to encourage knowledge-sharing, technology transfer and commercial potential. The total amount of funding available through the incentive is approximately C$300,000 ($220,330), with each part contributing half of the funds. The total maximum contribution for each project funded through the incentive will be C$75,000 ($55,000). Funding will take the form of a non-repayable contribution.<\/p>\n

\u201cColombia is a Latin American powerhouse when it comes to the development, production and export of audiovisual content,\u201d said Valerie Creighton, the president and CEO of CMF. \u201cThis new agreement is well-aligned with the CMF\u2019s objective to establish constructive partnerships with funding agencies in Latin America\u2019s growing markets. We are certain that Canadian producers will benefit enormously by turning their attention to Colombia in the search for co-development or co-production opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n
