Guy O\u2019Sullivan, the president and founder of Proper Television, passed away over the weekend.<\/p>\n

“On behalf of everyone at Proper Television, we extend our sincere condolences to\u00a0his children and family,” the company said in a statement. “Guy had a tremendous impact in the Canadian and international television industry and was adored by his colleagues and staff. Out of respect for the family, no further\u00a0comments will be made.”<\/p>\n

O\u2019Sullivan began his career as a print journalist and later followed his passion for TV to BBC in the U.K. as a producer and director. He came to Canada after five years with the BBC and continued to work as a producer and director at Mentorn Media.<\/p>\n

\u201cGuy\u2019s passing is a tragic loss to Canada\u2019s production community\u00a0and everyone here at Bell Media,\u201d said Randy Lennox, the president ofBell Media. \u201cGuy was an incredibly bright, charming, generous, and well-loved friend to all who knew and worked with him. In addition to his work on CTV\u2019s MasterChef Canada<\/em> projects, he helmed many of Discovery\u2019s success stories for the last dozen years\u2014more than half of the network\u2019s history\u2014developing personal friendships along the way.
