TORONTO: The 2016-17 prime-time schedule of Canada’s City includes the high-profile U.S. series\u00a0Lethal Weapon<\/em>, 24: Legacy<\/em> and Prison Break<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Among its newly added original series is the limited event drama Bad Blood: The Vito Rizzuto Story.\u00a0<\/em>Inspired by real-life mobster Vito Rizzuto and based on the best-selling book Business or Blood: Mafia Boss Vito Rizzuto’s Last War<\/em> by Antonio Nicaso and Peter Edwards, the production is a six-part limited event series debuting on City and FX in 2017. It is produced by New Metric Media, Sphere Media and DHX Media. Writers and executive producers are Michael Konyves (Barney’s Version<\/em>) and Simon Barry (Van Helsing<\/em>).<\/p>\n

City also unveiled the Millennial-focused, digital-first comedy Second Jen<\/em>. Created by and starring Samantha Wan (Sudden Master<\/em>) and Amanda Joy (Trapped in Terra<\/em>), Second Jen<\/em> is a coming-of-age comedy about two second-generation Chinese and Filipino-Canadian Millennials and best friends experiencing all of life’s firsts.<\/p>\n

“We’re committed to delivering strong Canadian originals to viewers and are excited to add two new series to our programming slate,” said Colette Watson, the VP of television and broadcast operations at Rogers Media. “Second Jen<\/em> and Bad Blood<\/em> are prime examples of how City tailors compelling content to meet the needs of our diverse and dynamic audiences on the platforms of their choice.”<\/p>\n

City’s 2016-17 schedule includes three buzzed-about U.S. dramas:<\/p>\n

On Mondays this fall, City begins the night with The Middle<\/em>, followed by The Real O’Neals<\/em> and 2 Broke Girls<\/em>. The Odd Couple<\/em> is new to the City schedule, airing Mondays at 9:30 p.m., followed by Scorpion<\/em>. Tuesdays see the pairing of Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>, New Girl<\/em> and Scream Queens<\/em>. The all-new Lethal Weapon<\/em> leads off Wednesdays, followed by Modern Family<\/em> and Black-ish<\/em>. The Mindy Project<\/em> kicks things off on Thursdays, to be followed by the new original series Second Jen<\/em>, with Mom<\/em> and Life in Pieces<\/em> capping off the evening. Fridays see the return of Hell’s Kitchen<\/em>, while Saturdays are dedicated to hockey. Sunday’s lineup is Bob’s Burgers<\/em>, Nirvanna The Band The Show<\/em>, Son of Zorn<\/em>, Family Guy<\/em> and The Last Man on Earth<\/em>.<\/p>\n
