\n\tTORONTO: There are 12 new prime-time shows coming to Canada's CBC for the 2014-15 season, including dramas such as The Honourable Woman<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the fall, CBC welcomes Strange Empire<\/em>, a Western whose heroes are women, to its lineup. Set for the winter 2015 lineup is Camp X<\/em>, an emotionally driven character drama set in the world of WWII espionage. Pirate's Passage<\/em> is a new animated TV movie, based on William Gilkerson's critically acclaimed novel. The Book of Negroes<\/em>, a six-part miniseries based on author Lawrence Hill's award-winning book of the same name, premieres in winter 2015. Additional dramas set for CBC include The Honourable Woman<\/em>, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, and the psychological thriller Secrets and Lies<\/em>, a six-part miniseries.<\/p>\n

\n\tCBC Selects <\/em>is a collection of some of the best programs from public broadcasters around the world. Titles for this season include the political thriller Janet King<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are two new comedies coming to CBC as well: Schitt's Creek<\/em>, co-created by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, and Fool Canada<\/em>, a hidden-camera series.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the way of factual, CBC has lined up Canada's Smartest Person<\/em>, a one-hour unscripted series that seeks to uncover a new definition of smart. The show launches in the fall. New to CBC for the winter is Of All Places<\/em>, which takes viewers into a quirky small town in Canada. Balletlujah <\/em>is a film that celebrates k.d. lang, following the creation of a ballet based on her work.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmong the returning series for the CBC lineup are Dragons' Den<\/em>, Mr .D<\/em>, Murdoch Mysteries <\/em>and Republic of Doyle<\/em>.<\/p>\n
