\n\tTORONTO: Breakthrough Entertainment has purchased Joker Films, an independent film sales, packaging and production company.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoker Films' entire catalogue will join the Breakthrough Entertainment portfolio. This includes The Lifeguard<\/em>, starring Kristen Bell and Martin Starr; That Burning Feeling<\/em>, featuring John Cho and Paulo Costanzo; Daydream Nation<\/em>, led by Josh Lucas; and Step Dogs<\/em>, starring Dylan Schmid and Eliana Jones.<\/p>\n

\n\tTim J. Brown, the founder of Joker Films, takes on the role of executive VP of feature films at Breakthrough. Brown will oversee the activities of the feature-film division, including acquisitions, sales and marketing. He will report to Nat Abraham, the president of distribution at Breakthrough.<\/p>\n
