TORONTO: There are 11 new dramas, including The Blacklist <\/em>and Dracula<\/em>, and seven comedies joining returning favorites on Global’s 2013-14 prime-time grid. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, Global found success with the acquired dramas Chicago Fire <\/em>and Elementary<\/em>. Continuing to expand on its collection of U.S. drama fare, the network picked up the James Spader vehicle The Blacklist<\/em>, along with the police drama Ironside<\/em>, which stars Blair Underwood. Global has given Dracula<\/em>, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, a Friday night slot. Also coming to the network is the fantasy-thriller Sleepy Hollow<\/em>, which joins the Monday night roster, paired with the J.J. Abrams sci-fi adventure Almost Human<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Among the comedies that Global slated for the 2013-14 season are three series with big-name leads: The Michael J. Fox Show<\/em>, starring the eponymous actor who returns to the small screen; The <\/em>Miller<\/em>s, led by Will Arnett and featuring Beau Bridges; and Sean Saves the Wo<\/em>rld<\/em>, which stars Sean Hayes. Global also went for the comedies Welcome to the Family <\/em>and We Are Men<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Global’s lineup also includes some Canadian originals, in the way of the docuseries Obsessions<\/em>, which investigates the unusual obsessions people can develop. There’s also Walk the Walk<\/em>, a six-part series that spotlights the relationship between heroes who inspire Canada’s Walk of Fame recipients and the impact that they have had on these heroes. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The network’s daytime lineup includes Queen Latifah fronting a new talk show in The Queen Latifah <\/em>Show<\/em>. Global is bringing back Entertainment Tonight<\/em>, Entertainment Tonight Canada<\/em>, The Good Wife<\/em>, Parenthood<\/em>, Crime Time<\/em>, Bob’s Burgers <\/em>and American Dad<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Midseason, Global has taken on the new dramas Chicago PD<\/em>, Crossbones<\/em>, Rake <\/em>and Reckless<\/em>. It has also scheduled a new Canadian original medical drama, Remedy<\/em>, alongside the highly anticipated limited series 24: Live Another Day<\/em>. Comedies making their way to Global midseason are About a Boy <\/em>and the Canadian original Working the Engels<\/em>. The Seth MacFarlane-produced docuseries Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey <\/em>also makes the list. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
