Singapore took home seven wins during night one of the Asian Academy Creative Awards today, followed by India with four.<\/p>\n
The Asian Academy Creative Awards are taking place in Singapore this week, with regional winners across a range of categories being presented over two nights. The Gala Awards Final tomorrow night (Thursday) will see the presentation of a further 18 performance and scripted categories.<\/p>\n
Beyond Singapore and India, the night’s winners also included Australia and Japan, with three trophies each. Winning shows also hailed from Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan.<\/p>\n
Star Vs Food Malaysia<\/em> from Creative Stew, Discovery and Astro claimed best adaptation of an existing format. Best animated show went to Story Inc, WIT Studio and Netflix’s Japan Bubble<\/em>. Hakka TV’s Taiwan Hello, My Name Is Dong-Ping<\/em> landed a win for best children’s program, while Bluey<\/em> triumphed in the preschool category. Best documentary (one-off) went to Lune Media and SBS Australia’s Osher Gu\u0308nsberg: A Matter of Life and Death<\/em>, while best doc series was presented to Vice Media’s\u00a0Open Secrets\u2014The Untouchable Chaebols of South Korea<\/em>. Say Yes to the Dress<\/em> on Discovery India picked up best lifestyle program. Japan Iriomote\u2014The Fabric of Life<\/em>, from NHK, Doclights and NDR, was crowned best natural history or wildlife show. Best original on a streamer\/OTT service was won by Yumi’s Cells<\/em> from Studio Dragon, MerryCow and Studio N.<\/p>\n Nat Geo’s Changi Airport: Battling the Pandemic<\/em> scored best branded program or series. Nat Geo also scored a win for Ganga River from the Skies<\/em> in the best current affairs category. Best direction (non-fiction) went to CNA and Mediacorp’s Ziqing\/Eve\u2014Inside Maximum Security\u2014Road to Freedom<\/em>.
