BBC Studios has brought together its Asia and Australia and New Zealand regions to create a newly formed Asia-Pacific regional business, under the leadership of Jon Penn.<\/p>\n
Penn, formerly managing director for Australia and New Zealand at BBC Studios, will oversee the new unit, comprising international sales and distribution business. The move follows the departure of Myleeta Aga, acting executive VP for Asia. As of September 1, BBC Studios\u2019 international sales and distribution business\u2014encompassing content sales, branded services and ancillaries\u2014came together as a single global distribution group under Paul Dempsey.<\/p>\n
In his expanded role, Penn will continue to report to Dempsey.<\/p>\n
Dempsey said, “Jon\u2019s ability and experience make him ideally suited to extend his remit across our successful Asia business. He has overseen an impressive growth story in Australia and New Zealand and this is a great opportunity to bring our fast-growing Asia business into a formidable APAC region.”<\/p>\n
