Astro has sealed new partnerships in Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia to expand the reach of its eSports channel eGG Network, which was first unveiled at APOS last year.<\/p>\n
The service is now available in six countries, with the new markets adding to its existing distribution in Australia, Brunei and Malaysia. The new partnerships were signed with Singtel in Singapore, Globe’s BEAM TV in the Philippines and Orange TV and Genflix in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Lee Choong Khay, VP of the sports business at Astro, noted, “eGG is off to a good start, and we expect it to play a pivotal role in driving expansion for us into new markets. We look forward to more on-ground events to strengthen our offerings for our partners in the region. In October 2016, we collaborated with PGL to bring CS:GO Minor Championship Asia to Malaysia. eSports transcends languages and borders hence opening up unique content creation and advertising opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today, eGG Network is also available as a free-to-air DTT channel via the company\u2019s digital broadcast television partner, BEAM TV.
