This programming will air on the flagship brand Discovery Channel as well as the travel and lifestyle channel TLC.<\/p>\n<p>Among the new local productions are <em>Frontier Borneo<\/em>, which reveals not only the beauty of the island but also the reality of frontier living; <em>Surviving Borneo<\/em>, following local television host and influencer Henry Golding on a personal mission to discover his tribal roots; and <em>You Have Been Warned Asia<\/em>, which deconstructs the science behind experiments seen on the internet. Further local productions include <em>Worst Vacation Ever<\/em>, with Filipino celebrity brothers KC and Troy Montero; <em>Say Yes to the Dress Asia<\/em>; <em>The Kings<\/em>, following transgender woman Angelina Mead King and her model-host wife Joey Mead King; and <em>Wok With Us<\/em>, a digital collaboration with Singapore foodies The Meatmen.<\/p>\n<p>Rohit Tharani, the director of content curation at Discovery Southeast Asia, said, \u201cFor over 20 years, Discovery has had a great track record in innovative and immersive storytelling. Based on data-driven insights, we understand the power of telling homegrown stories. In 2017, we are taking the lead and investing in more local content than ever before, bolstering our flagship channels and broadening the appeal for the millennial generation.
