{"id":4205,"date":"2017-01-18T11:39:32","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T16:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvasia\/komixx-sets-up-asiapac-office\/"},"modified":"2017-01-18T14:53:06","modified_gmt":"2017-01-18T19:53:06","slug":"komixx-sets-up-asiapac-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvasia\/komixx-sets-up-asiapac-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Komixx Sets Up AsiaPac Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON\/LOS ANGELES: Independent film and television outfit Komixx Entertainment is targeting expansion in Australia and Asia with the creation of a new office in Perth to be led by Amanda Morrison.<\/p>\n<p>Morrison is currently chair of the board of directors for the Centre For Interdisciplinary Arts and PVI collective in Western Australia and previously founded Transmedia For Change, an independent documentary and children&#8217;s production company.<\/p>\n<p>Komixx Entertainment, known for shows like <em>Toby\u2019s Travelling Circus<\/em>, <em>Wanda and the Alien<\/em> and <em>The Kissing Booth<\/em>, is looking to tap into new opportunities across AsiaPac following a boom in SVOD services in the region. The local office will be based at Open Field Arts Innovation in Perth, focusing on developing and producing local content across scripted, non-scripted and digital formats.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Cole-Bulgin, joint CEO and head of film and TV at Komixx Media Group, noted, \u201cWe are extremely excited to be bringing Amanda on board to help us drive this exciting new chapter in Komixx\u2019s international story. The Australian office serves as a natural progression to our global content strategy and we\u2019re thrilled to be making our mark in the APAC region. Our growth here is a response to the demand for new and exciting content in Asia and Amanda is the perfect person to lead this charge. Her unique international perspective within both the traditional and new media content production markets ensures we\u2019ll have some exciting content emerging from the Perth office very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morrison added, &#8220;I am really excited to be founding Komixx Entertainment Australia.
