{"id":4200,"date":"2017-01-12T12:38:08","date_gmt":"2017-01-12T17:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvasia\/paramount-channel-launches-in-vietnam\/"},"modified":"2017-01-12T14:54:29","modified_gmt":"2017-01-12T19:54:29","slug":"vimns-paramount-channel-lands-in-vietnam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvasia\/vimns-paramount-channel-lands-in-vietnam\/","title":{"rendered":"VIMN&#8217;s Paramount Channel Lands in Vietnam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HO CHI MINH CITY\/SINGAPORE: International Media Corp (IMC) has revealed the launch of Viacom International Media Networks\u2019 (VIMN) Paramount Channel Vietnam on HTVC cable, which began broadcasting this month.<\/p>\n<p>Paramount Channel Vietnam will air\u00a0family-friendly films distributed by Paramount Pictures, including <em>Shrek<\/em>\u00a0and <em>How to Train Your Dragon<\/em>, and\u00a0such blockbuster franchises as <em>The Godfather<\/em>, <em>Mission Impossible<\/em>, <em>Transformers<\/em> and <em>Star Trek<\/em>. The network will feature a viewing experience that is a collection of films\u00a0by themes and movie stunt packages each week. It will also offer a mix of some local Vietnamese titles\u00a0in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>This launch follows the international success of Paramount Channel in Spain, France, Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Latin America and Italy. In Asia, the HD, 24-hour curated movie network\u00a0has launched on Digicel in the Pacific Islands and on TrueVisions in Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>Lam Chi Thien, IMC\u2019s executive chairman, stated: \u201cWe are thrilled to announce the arrival of Paramount Channel Vietnam, first on HTVC. It will strengthen the family programming lineup for viewers in Vietnam. And we look forward to expanding the distribution of this 24-hour curated movie channel in Vietnam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paras Sharma, VIMN&#8217;s senior VP and general manager for Southeast Asia, added: \u201cWe\u2019re excited to sign another distribution deal for Paramount Channel in Asia with IMC, as we continue to expand the footprint of the fastest-growing brands in VIMN\u2019s international portfolio.
