SINGAPORE: OTJ: The Missing 8<\/em>, the first original series for Asian on-demand service HOOQ, is set to premiere in the first quarter of 2017.<\/p>\n

The six-part drama is based on Erik Matti\u2019s acclaimed Filipino movie OTJ<\/em> and focuses on the investigation into the massacre of eight journalists. It is produced by Reality Entertainment, the independent film outfit headed by Matti and Dondon Monteverde, in partnership with Globe Studios, the digital entertainment content arm of Filipino telco Globe.<\/p>\n

\u201cGlobe Studios\u2019 thrust is to create unique and original content for our customers, whether they are at home or on mobile,\u201d said Dan Horan, the senior advisor for the consumer business at Globe. \u201cOTJ<\/em> is something familiar yet dangerous enough that shows how far we can push the limits of this exciting online medium.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krishnan Rajagopalan, co-founder and chief content officer at HOOQ, noted, \u201cHOOQ originals will enhance our best-in-market content offering by adding exclusive local movies and TV series that are made for SVOD.\u201d<\/p>\n
