CANNES: Already commissioned in a number of territories, I Can See Your Voice<\/em> is one of CJ E&M\u2019s best-selling formats.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter its successful release and now armed with a tremendous track record worldwide, we are definitely looking forward to this format traveling more,\u201d says Jin Woo Hwang, the company\u2019s head of global format development.<\/p>\n

CJ E&M is also showcasing Grandpas Over Flowers<\/em>, which has been successfully adapted as Better Late Than Never<\/em> in the U.S. Small World IFT is distributing the format in Europe, while CJ E&M is handling Asian sales. There is also The Society Game,<\/em> which is co-developed with Endemol Shine Group. \u201cThe format contains the highest level of creativity and production capability of the East and West,\u201d says Hwang, who notes that Endemol Shine will be distributing the title worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith our\u00a0differentiated\u00a0formats and\u00a0stories, we\u00a0believe Korean\u00a0creativity has\u00a0the potential to produce the next biggest hit,\u201d says\u00a0Hwang.<\/p>\n

The experimental entertainment series Words Wars<\/em> looks on as seven people of various nationalities who speak different languages live together for two months in a remote village and must collaborate to create a new lingua franca. CJ E&M is offering this format to international buyers, along with Between the Scenes<\/em>, a dramatic reality show about the romantic relationships that go on behind the scenes of a web show. \u201cThis is a unique cross-platform experience and can work on every web series that is planned to go into production,\u201d says Hwang. Then there is Sweetheart in Your Ear<\/em>, an experimental dating show. The format watches as daters first talk over the phone and then decide only from the conversation who they want to go out with.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe our\u00a0new experimental formats are truly transferable and workable in\u00a0any territory,\u201d\u00a0Hwang notes.<\/p>\n

A spin-off of Let\u2019s Eat<\/em>, Drinking Solo<\/em> aims to show viewers how to truly enjoy their beverages. \u201cIt\u2019s bringing a new paradigm to drinking alone and really savoring the drink,\u201d says Jangho Seo, the head of international sales and acquisitions at CJ E&M.<\/p>\n

Another title being presented by the company at MIPCOM is The Good Wife<\/em>, a remake of the popular U.S. show. \u201cThe success of The Good Wife<\/em> is already proven through its original series,\u201d says Seo.<\/p>\n

Then there is Bring It On, Ghost<\/em>, which tells the story of a college student who can see phantoms. Seo notes that CJ E&M has been stepping up its drama efforts as of late. \u201cWe have acquired some production houses already famous for their dramas and writers,\u201d he says. \u201cWe already are confident, but also are looking forward for the future productions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, CJ E&M\u2019s production house separated into\u00a0another entity called Studio Dragon, and we are now able to truly focus more\u00a0on the quality of\u00a0our dramas,\u201d says\u00a0Seo.<\/p>\n
